Oliver \”Omar\” Sanchez Flores, age 86, of Chicago, IL, passed away on Tuesday, September 13, 2016. He is survived by his children, Arthur (Susan) Flores, Ronald (Elizabeth) Flores, Oliver Flores, Jr., Denise (late Reynaldo) Garcia, and Joyce (Jesus) Escmilla; twelve grandchildren; eighteen great grandchildren; three great great grandchildren; sisters, Ida (John) Moreno; Yolanda (late Jaime) Cardero; step-sisters, Laura Arceo and Sonia Delgado; step-brothers, Angel Flores and Larry Flores; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Assuncion Jenny Flores; parents, Rodrigo and Sophia Flores; sister, Elba Rodriguez; and brothers, Roy Flores, Rolando Flores, Ramiro Flores and Baldemar Flores. Funeral Services will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Monday, September 19, 2016 at Kish Funeral Home 10000 Calumet Ave. Munster, IN, with Deacon James Renwick, officiating. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery Calumet City, IL. Visitation will be on Sunday, September 18, 2016, at the funeral home, from 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 pm. Oliver served his country in the Korean War and was a Purple Heart Recipient. He retired from Inland Steel after 38 years of service.

In loving memory of my Uncle (tio) Oliver Flores that came to visit me in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan several times. And with each visit he always reminded me so much of home along with his daughter Denise and what other family members that came along with them. I will always remember how much he enjoyed taking trips to Mackinac Island, Mackinaw City and Pictured Rocks with us! He always looked forward to visiting with me which always made my wife and I feel special. GOD bless his heart for being such a loving and caring man! He will be SO sadly missed by my wife and I! May he rest in peace with GOD and his wonderful wife Jenny now! They are together now into eternity! Thank you so much for the memories.You will never ever be forgotten!!!!
