Patricia Ann (Pat) Reppa died peacefully on February 25, 2013 with her devoted husband of 59 years, Jerome (Jerry), and her seven adoring children at her side. She was 85.She was born in Chicago on December 20, 1927 and was lovingly raised from infancy by her adoptive parents, Matthew and Ann Wirtz, in Hammond. She was a proud graduate of Catholic Central High School (Bishop Noll Institute); a Munster resident and faithful parishioner of St. Thomas More Church for 57 years; a dedicated room mother, band parent and volleyball coach at St. Thomas More School; a member of the Carmelite Guild of Hammond; a devoted wife, mother and grandmother; and an avid Notre Dame football fan.She will be remembered for her quick wit, generous spirit, and love of life. She taught her children and grandchildren the importance of faith, family and the lost art of the handwritten thank-you note.She is survived by her husband, Jerry Reppa, of Munster; her son, Jim of Highlands Ranch, CO; her daughters Laura (John) Monteen of Merrillville, Nancy (Tim) Johnson of Flossmoor, IL, Mary (George) Behrens of Munster, Julie (Ken) Myers of Dyer, Cathy (Brian) Lundeen of Elm Grove, WI, and Carolyn (Dave) Blocher of Munster. Also survived by 18 grandchildren: Paul, Claire, Grace and Erin Myers; George, Maggie, Patrick and Kevin Behrens; Ann Marie Monteen; Peter, David and Michael Johnson; Natalie Reppa; Jack, Will and Craig Lundeen; and Matt and Mary Beth Blocher. She took great delight in her only great-grandchild, Mia Rose Monteen. She will be missed by many nieces, nephews and cousins.Visitation will be at Kish Funeral Home, 10000 Calumet Avenue in Munster, on Friday, March 1, from 4 to 8 p.m., and at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday at St. Thomas More Church, 8501 Calumet Avenue, followed by Mass at 10 a.m. Memorials to St. Thomas More School are greatly appreciated.
