Pauline Katagas, age 95, passed away on February 2, 2017, with her family by her side. Pauline was born in Sheldon, WI on March 27, 1921. She was raised in Agion, Greece and came to America and met her loving husband Peter. She was married to Peter for 64 wonderful years. Pauline is survived by her loving son, John (Ruth, Melissa and Ashley) Katagas; son-in-law, Mike McCreight; loving granddaughter, Dr. Jennifer McCreight; Chris (Erin) McCreight; Pat (Kristy) McCreight & Family; sister-in-law, Matina Preka; niece, Elena Karmokolias and family; niece and nephew, Dini and Tony Eliopoulos and family. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Peter Katagas; her adoring daughter, Elena McCreight; her parents, Gus and Chrissoula Kintonis; and siblings, Katherine, George and Vasso. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m.(noon) on Thursday, February 9, 2017 at Kish Funeral Home 10000 Calumet Ave. Munster, IN, with Rev. Fr. David Bissias, officiating. Interment will follow at Elmwood Cemetery Hammond, IN Visitation will be held on Thursday, at the funeral home, from 10:00 a.m. until the 12:00 p.m. (noon) service.Pauline Katagas was an amazing woman, who loved everyone she met and was loved by them. She will be deeply missed. In the words of her granddaughter, Jennifer, \”She was the kind of person who always brought home made sweets when she visited anyone (even her doctors), and who could befriend any stranger instantaneously. I will always think of her when I see a butterfly or cuddle a cat, when I garden or cook, or when I just want to dance or sing a little song.\” Se apagame para poly, Yia Yia.
