Philip James Rosenbach, 91, of Lansing, IL, was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, veteran, and an active member as well as Eucharistic Minister of the Catholic Church. He passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 3, 2025.
Phil was a devoted husband to his adoring wife, Mary Ann, for 67 wonderful years. Together, they shared a life full of love, laughter, and adventure—traveling, dining, and dancing side by side. He was a loving father to Kathleen Rosenbach and David Rosenbach, and a proud, involved grandfather to Eric (Cody) Mlcoch, Zachary (Lauren) Mlcoch, and Scott (Kaylin) Mlcoch, as well as a great-grandfather to Jack (son of Scott and Kaylin).
Born June 9, 1934 in Chicago, IL, Phil was preceded in death by his parents, Philip and Marie Rosenbach, and his brother Jack (Joan) Rosenbach.
Phil served honorably in the United States Army before returning home to marry the love of his life, Mary Ann Kovac. He worked as a Chicago Local 1 Ironworker and later served as Apprenticeship Coordinator before retiring in 1999. Phil took great pride in his work as an ironworker. His dedication and enthusiasm for the trade were evident in his leadership and mentorship, shaping the careers of countless apprentices.
Phil embraced life with enthusiasm and joy. He loved leisure activities such as golfing, swimming, bow hunting, fishing, and volunteering his time to help others. His zest for life and commitment to family and faith were evident in everything he did.
Visitation will take place at Kish Funeral Home, Munster, IN on 12/15/2025 from 3:00-7:00p with service at 5:00p. He will be laid to rest with a private ceremony at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, Elwood, IL the following morning.
