Raj and Daya married in 1970. After getting his Master’s degree, he was hired as a research scientist at American Maize in Hammond, Indiana, where he conducted research and testing on corn-based products. He retired in 1999.
One of his favorite things to do was taking his family on summer Saturdays to the library, the park, or to Chicago, where they’d explore museums, picnic on the lakeshore, and visit Little India on Devon Avenue. Later in life, he enjoyed spending time with his granddaughters.
Services were private. He is buried at Memory Lane Memorial Park in Crown Point, Indiana.
