Ralph A. Cox, 93 of Dolton, IL passed away on Friday, August 16, 2024. Ralph A. Cox, 93 of Dolton, IL passed away on Friday, August 16, 2024. He is survived by his daughters, Cheryl (Phil Messerschmidt) Cox, Lisa (Michael) Cipich, Toni (Michael) Davia, and Amy (Michael) Brown; grandchildren, Matthew Cipich, Alan Cipich, Kurt Davia, Kristin Davia, Nicholas
(Chelsea) Brown, and Amanda Brown; great grandson, Beau Dorsey; sister, Donna Peterson; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 65 years, Dolores (nee Melia); daughter, Laura Lee Cox; parents, Harry and Anna Cox; brother, James (Virginia) Cox.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, August 20, 2024 from 4:00-8:00 pm at Kish Funeral Home, 10000 Calumet Ave. Munster, IN. Funeral service will be on Wednesday, August 21, 2024 at 10:00 am at the funeral home. Interment will be a Calvary Cemetery, Steger, IL. Memorial contributions to a charity of your choice in his memory would be appreciated.
Ralph enjoyed fishing, gardening, crossword puzzles, his grandchildren, and his Little Kitty. In his 50’s, he began running, and even completed 2 Chicago Marathons in 1988 and 1989. He served with the U.S. Army during the Korean War from November 1951 until October 1953, and then as a reservist until 1960. He was employed as a commercial artist at H&R Studios and then at the Davidson Group.
He will be greatly missed by his entire family.
