Ralph Franklin Teets, 84, of Hammond, IN passed away on Sunday, July 26, 2009 at Community Hospital in Munster. He is survived by his loving children: Betty (Ross David Jr.) Culp of Munster, Cheryi (Kyle) Smith of Greenwood and Robert Teets of Munster; beloved grandchildren: Kelly (David) Mallasch of New Whiteland, Ryan Smith of Indianapolis, Matthew and Natalie Culp of Munster; precious granddaughters: Zoe and Lucy Mallasch; dear sisters: Beatrice (late William) Abbott of Vincennes, Patty (Don) Marlowe of Orman Beach, FL and Bonnie (Late David) Harrison of Eutis, FL; fond cousin: Bill Cullom; numerous nieces and nephews; preceded in death by his wife of 58 years: Helen Nagy Teets; parents: Frank and Viola Teets; brother: Henry (Myrtle) Teets; sisters: Lena May, Essie (George) Pooler, Bettie (James and Roy) Devine-Skeggs and Mary (Alan) Williams. Ralph was born at home in East Chicago, IN. He was honored to serve in the U.S. Navy during World War II and the Korean Wars. He was a proud member of the Pipefitters Local 597 for 60 years. He was a member of the American Legion Post 16 and the Moose Lodge in East Chicago. Ralph was an enthusiastic White Sox fan and Colts’ fan but he also cheered for the Bears. He loved to grow tomatoes, fish and host fish frys. He will be truly missed by his family and those who knew and loved him. Visitation will be on Wednesday, July 29, 2009 from 3:00-8:00 PM at Kish Funeral Home 10000 Calumet Ave. (next to Fitness Pointe) Munster, IN. Funeral service will take place on Thursday, July 30, 2009 at 10:00 AM at the funeral home. Interment: Memory Lane Cemetery, Schererville, IN.
