Ramon \”Monie\” Salvo, 68, of Griffith, Indiana, was born into Eternal Life on October 26, 2017. Monie studied at Mapua Institute of Technology, Philippines, where he was a co-founder of Beta Rho Omega Fraternity. Both a Boiler and a Hoosier, he studied at Purdue University, West Lafayette and Indiana University, Bloomington, where he received a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting. Monie was an Accountant, Programmer, and Manager for ArcelorMittal, formerly Inland Steel, before he retired in 1999. He loved life and made people laugh, he enjoyed reading and never stopped learning. Monie loved to challenge everyone in chess and tennis, and was a talented pianist. He was preceded in death by his parents, Dr. Atee and Gloria Salvo. Monie is survived by his loving and ever devoted wife of 42 years, Emmie (nee de Leon), who he \”loved more than life\”. As a doting father, Monie never missed a chance to brag about his, son, James, and daughters, Eliza and Rachele. Also left behind are his brothers: Jesty, Jerry (Agnes), Nolan, and Alvin and nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews who he all cherished dearly.Please join us in celebration of Monie's life at St. Mary's Church in Griffith, IN with visitation starting at 10:00a.m. followed by a funeral Mass at noon.
