Randell E. Canene, 93, of Dyer, IN passed away on Saturday, March 19, 2016. Randell E. Canene, 93, of Dyer, IN passed away on Saturday, March 19, 2016. He is survived by his sons, Randell (Christine) Canene and Scott Canene; daughter, Jeanne (Daniel) Geisheimer; grandchildren, Kirstie (David) Adams, Robyn Canene, Stephanie (James) Trader, Christopher Canene, Zachary and Sarah Geisheimer; great grandchildren, Karina and Ethan Adams, Isabella and Lillian Trader. He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Canene. Visitation will be on Wednesday, March 23, 2016 from 4:00-8:00 pm at Kish Funeral Home, 10000 Calumet Ave. Munster, IN. Funeral service will be on Thursday, March 24, 2016 at 11:00 am at the funeral home. Interment will be private at Oakland Memory Lane Cemetery, Dolton, IL. Randell was a member of the Communications Workers of America. He served with the U.S. Army in the Signal Corp during World War II. Randell retired from Western Electric after 40 years of service. He was a Chick Evans Scholarship winner and a graduate of Carleton College. In lieu of flowers, contributions to a charity of your choice in his memory would be appreciated.
