Renata Del Sangro, 87, of Dyer, Indiana, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 24, 2023.  She is preceded in death by her parents Pio and Filomena Bonaminio, her dear brother, Carlo Bonaminio, and her beloved husband Mario Del Sangro of 57 years.   Renata is survived by her children Mario Del Sangro, Nicola (Dawn) Del Sangro, and Linda Tomasello, proud grandmother of Brianna (Anthony) Spangler, Julia Del Sangro, Nicholas Del Sangro and Alex Del Sangro, and great-grandmother to Kaden Spangler. Caring sister of Anna Iacobucci and Nerina Scalzitti, and many cherished nieces and nephews.

Renata was a devout Catholic and parishioner of St. Maria Goretti Church. After retirement she enjoyed gardening, cooking, baking, and spending time with her family and friends and especially with her grandchildren and great-grandchild.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 1, 2023 from 3:00-8:00 pm and at Kish Funeral Home 10000 Calumet Avenue in Munster, Indiana.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, November 2, 2023 at 10:00 am at St. Maria Goretti Church, 500 Northgate Dr., Dyer, Indiana. Interment will follow at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens, Schererville, Indiana.

My favorite example is when she reported back to my parents that I was speeding around in my car on the streets of Calumet City. I so truly appreciate having been “raised by a village”.
