Rene H. Olivencia, 75 of Munster, IN passed away on Monday, November 13, 2023. He is survived by his son, David (Yesenia) Olivencia; daughter, Elizabeth (Jason) Cipowski; grandchildren, Juan, Jacob, Joseph, Sofia and Juliana; sister, Maricel (Felix) Vallejo; brother, Angel Felipe (Melissa) Olivencia; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Rafael and Maria Olivencia-Serrano; brother, Luis Olivencia.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, November 20, 2023 at 10:00 am at St. Thomas More Church, Munster, IN. Visitation will be from 9:30-10:00 am on Monday at the church.

Rene was born in Guaynabo, Puerto Rico and raised in the Northwest Indiana. He proudly served with the U.S. Army and retired from EJ&E Railroad. Rene was an avid and life-long Cubs fan.

As Rene said it best, “I’ll see ya when I see ya”.
