Renee “Irene” Muldoon

Renee “Irene” Muldoon (nee: Franko) was born on January 21, 1939. She passed into eternal peace on May 18, 2014. A loving wife and mother, Renee additionally took great pride in being a nurse for almost 5 decades, spending most of her years helping patients at St. Margaret’s Hospital in Hammond. She was a master gardener, as well as a lover of literature and music. Renee is preceded in death by her parents, John and Irene Franko, and her brother, Gene Franko. She is survived by her dedicated and loving husband of 51 years, Bob (Robert) Muldoon, her son, Brian Muldoon and his wife, Diana York, her daughter, Lara Muldoon, and her husband Michael Gaffke. She is also survived by her daughter, Kathleen Muldoon-Glassen, and three grandchildren, Alyssa, Rebecca, and Reid Glassen. Visitation will occur at 11:00 am on Thursday, May 22, 2014 at St. Maria Goretti Church, 500 Northgate Dr. Dyer, IN. Funeral service will follow at 12:00 on Thursday. Renee’s interment will be private.In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Hospice of the Calumet Area, the organization which helped bring her peace and comfort in her final days.
