Richard D. Altgilbers, 52 of Dyer, IN passed away on Thursday, January 23, 2014. He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Liliana; son, Brian (fiancé Jenny Gallo) Altgilbers; mother, Patricia Altgilbers; brothers, Daniel (Vicki), Michael and Bobby Altgilbers; sisters, Lisa and Susan Altgilbers; beloved dog, Corky; preceded in death by his father, Leroy Altgilbers and brother, Chris Altgilbers. Visitation will be on Tuesday, January 28, 2014 from 3:00-8:00 PM at Kish Funeral Home, 10000 calumet Ave. Munster, IN. Funeral service will be on Wednesday, January 29, 2014 at 10:00 AM at the funeral home. Interment will be private at a later date. Richard was a member of St. Thomas More Church and the former Supervisor for the East Chicago Parks and Recreation Department. Richard endured a very large health history but always found a way to be there for others. In lieu of flowers, contributions to the family would be appreciated.
