Richard “Doc” Pihulic, 88 of Munster, IN passed away on Sunday, September 4, 2011. He is survived by his daughters: Susan (Eric) Abbott and Sarah (Jim) Wojcik; grandchildren: Kristin (Jeff) Bagull and Kourtney Fisher; great granddaughters: Ella and Caroline Bagull; sister: Rosann (late John) Kinsman; sister in law: Florence (late Joseph) Hovanec; many nieces, nephews, cousins and lifelong friends; Preceded in death by his wife: Beatrice Pihulic(nee Hruskovich); parents: Michael and Anna (nee Reppa) Pihulic; brother: Michael (“Cookie”) Pihulic; sister: Elaine McGuan; Visitation will be on Thursday, September 8, 2011 from 3:00-8:00 PM with a prayer service at 4:30 PM at Kish Funeral Home, 10000 Calumet Ave. Munster, IN and on Friday from 9:30-10:00 AM at the church. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, September 9, 2011 at 10:00 AM at St. Thomas More Church, Fr. Michael Yadron officiating; Entombment, St. John Cemetery, Hammond, IN. Doc was a member of Youche Country Club, the East Chicago Elks and the Knights of Columbus; Past President of the Indiana Bowling Proprietors Association; Past Board member of the Sea Tower Apartments, Fort Lauderdale, FL. He was an avid bowler, golfer and card player. In lieu of flowers, contributions to Hospice of the Calumet Area in his memory would be appreciated.
