Richard M. May 77, of Munster, IN, has gone to his eternal home on Thursday, September 3, 2009. Beloved husband for 48 years of Judy (Getschow); loving father of Heidi May (Shaun) O’Rourke; cherished grandfather of Vance Patrick O’Rourke; fond brother of Elmo (Carlene) May and sister Rosemary Talantis. Celebration of life will take place at First United Lutheran Church 6705 Hohman Ave. Hammond, IN. Visitation will be on Tuesday, September 8, 2009 from 3:00-8:00 PM. Funeral service will be on Wednesday, September 9, 2009 at 10:00 AM at the church with Pastor Bassam Abdullah officiating. Burial at Chapel Lawn Cemetery, Schererville, In. Rich was the Co-Owner of DeYoung-May Auto sales in Highland, IN with childhood friend Glen Deyoung for 37 years; member of the First United Lutheran Church and the Garfield Lodge F.&A.M. in Highland, IN. Rich was loved by all that knew him and will be greatly missed by his loving family and friends. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to the Hospice of the Calumet Area or the Humane Society of the Calumet area in his memory would be appreciated.
