Richard R. Younkers

Richard R. Younkers, 83 of Hammond, IN passed away on Wednesday, January 4, 2012 at Rush University Medical Center. He is survived by his wife: Juanita Louise Younkers; grandchildren: Adam and Kelsi Bartz; son-in-law: Alan Bartz; sister-in-law: Rhoda (late Fred) Younkers; brothers-in-law: Robert (Bonnie) Quinn, Richard (Carrie) Stultz and Arthur (Barbara) Stultz; mother-in-law: Jeanne Stultz; numerous nieces and nephews; Preceded in death by his first wife: Shirley Younkers; daughter: Carrie Bartz; sister: Kathy Quinn and parents: Fredrick and Mildred Younkers. Visitation will be on Sunday, January 8, 2012 from 2:00-7:00 PM at Kish Funeral Home, 10000 Calumet Ave. Munster, IN and on Monday from 9:30-10:00 AM at the church. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday at 10:00 AM at St. Thomas More Church; Interment will be at St. John/St. Joseph Cemetery, Hammond, IN. Richard was a member of the Pipefitters Local 597 for 55 years; owner of Do-all Village Laundry and Dry Cleaners; was a decorated U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War and a member of St. Thomas More Church. In lieu of flowers, contributions to St. Thomas More Church or a charity of your choice in his memory would be appreciated.
