I always hoped that I would run into Bob sometime again after high school, but that never happened. Bob took on the persona of ‘the phantom chair stealer’ in ‘83/‘84 in welding class, when we spent the second half of the day at Hammond Tech. Periodically, many of us in the class would go to our respective welding booths to discover that our stool had been removed from the booth. And then eventually Bob would walk past the booth with his flannel unbuttoned and stretched out with his arms raised to imitate a cape and then he would make this bizarre “cawing” sound, like an injured crow. He seemed less inhibited at Hammond Tech than when he would be in the mornings at Gavit. Rest in peace Robert Cobb.

Dear friends, We have never met Rob or his family, but almost feel as if we know you all through Mary as we are both at Lenoir City First Church of the Nazarene in Tennessee. You have been in our thoughts and prayers for quite awhile. We want to offer our heartfelt condolences to you for our loss. We know what is like to lose someone we love; but now Rob suffers no pain or confusion. He is in glory with Jesus, and has experienced the true resurrection of Easter.

I'm so sorry for your loss. I just wanted to let you guys know I was thinking of you in this time of mourning. I only got to see Robbie once, sometimes twice a year if we were lucky. He was always smiling and he was very nice to me. Eric was the one always up to some shenanigans and Robbie just shake his head and try not to laugh. Again I'm so sorry for your loss. I'm in Tennessee and am unable to attend his services. May God put his loving arms around your family and comfort them. I also understand losing a husband to a chronic disease. God bless
