Robert “Bob” Biscan, 71, of St. John, Indiana passed away on Monday, April 13, 2020. Robert “Bob” Biscan, 71, of St. John, Indiana passed away on Monday, April 13, 2020. He is survived by his beloved wife of 49 years, Mary Jo (Biegel) Biscan; his three children, Matthew Biscan (Liz), Katherine Ennis (Marc), and Jacob Biscan; his four grandchildren, Daniel, Michael, Molly, and Margaret Biscan; his three siblings, Phillip Biscan (Lynn), Rosemary Hiduke, and Steve Biscan (Dalene). Robert was preceded in death by his parents Mary and Phillip Biscan of Hammond, Indiana.
Robert was a lifelong resident of Northwest Indiana. He graduated from Morton High School in 1966 where he was a record-holding baseball pitcher. Robert was a 2015 Hammond Sports Hall of Fame Inductee for his achievements at Morton. He played Minor League Baseball in the Cleveland Indians farm system before serving in the Vietnam War as a distinguished member of the United States Army. Robert began his career working for the Illinois Central Railroad and went on to co-found and operate Mobile Locomotive Services, Inc. Robert worked very hard but loved his wife and family above all. His enduring and steadfast passion for the game of baseball brought joy to his life in many ways. He will forever be celebrated as a loyal husband, father, grandfather, brother, friend, and American. In lieu of flowers, contributions to the St. Joseph Soup Kitchen, Hammond, IN. in his memory would be appreciated.
