Robert G. Schopp, 94, of Dyer, IN passed away on Wednesday, October 5, 2016. Loving father of Rev. George Schopp, Pamela (Frank) Schopp-Young, John (late Janice) Schopp, Donna (Robert) Ivanov, Roberta (Emory) Coe and Greg (Denise) Schopp; caring father-in-law of Ron Cook. Cherished grandfather and great grandfather. Fond brother of Delores (late Paul) Cleghorn and Marlene (Lew) Lawrence. Numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Mary; daughter, Mary Ann Cook, grandson, Scott Mueller, 2 sisters and a brother. Visitation will be on Sunday, October 9, 2016 from 2:00-6:00 pm at Kish Funeral Home, 10000 Calumet Ave. Munster, IN. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, October 10, 2016 at 1:00 pm at St. Ann Church, 3010 Ridge Road, Lansing, IL. Interment will be at Assumption cemetery, Glenwood, IL. Robert served with the U.S. Army during World War II. He retired from Combustion Engineering. Robert was an active member of St. Ann Church, serving as Lector and Eucharistic Minister. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus Coronata Council and volunteered at the Tri-State Nursing Home for 25 years. In lieu of flowers, contributions to Catholic Charities or Misercordia in his memory would be appreciated.

I can remember so many things about my grandpa and my grandma as well I remember going there after school many times we do our homework there and mi many family gatherings over the years my grandpa had a huge basement with it was the size of a small banquet hall I remember always what did you get at all the food we'd always fill up the basement at Christmas parties that's how big our family was lots of love and joy was shared around my grandparents my grandma she left us first and now Grandpa but the good thing is is that my grandparents are reunited now and have in heaven watching over us all my grandpa will be missed we love you grandpa enjoy Paradise With Jesus
