Robert (“Bob,” “Rob,” or “Boom Boom” to those who knew him) Giannetti was an avid sportsman and outdoorsman. He departed these earthly confines for the great duck hunt in the sky Tuesday, December 3, 2024.
He loved hunting ducks & geese. He truly enjoyed every part of the sport, especially the fresh air and the time spent in his duck blind amongst friends. He was a proud member and life sponsor of Ducks Unlimited, and he deeply respected the importance of wetlands’ conservation.
Bob had other hobbies he enjoyed with passion. Whether it was owning, training, and/or anticipating each race of his standardbred pacers and trotters, or following and investing in the stock market, once Bob got a bug to learn about something new, he jumped in with both feet and never looked back. He loved every minute of learning something new and couldn’t wait to take his trusting & loving wife, Beth, along for the ride. His enthusiasm spoke to his entrepreneurial spirit, and he always put forth the extra effort to make his family secure and comfortable.
Underneath his camo and past daydreaming of time at the duck blind, Bob was a man who deeply loved the people in his life.
He never met another person who was not a friend, and he had room in his heart for everyone in his family and community. His compassion and friendship were authentic and never conditional – he cared for people, no matter who they were, where they came from, or what they believed.
And if you asked him, there was no one he loved more than his beautiful & adoring wife, Beth, whom he dutifully protected, laughed with, and thrived with through all of life’s ups and downs.
Bob was a charitable man with unimpeachable work ethic and integrity. He loved to help, and his last charitable act was as a donor of his tissue to Gift of Hope; his continued selflessness will reportedly help up to 75 people on their journeys to happy and healthy lives.
While Bob worked incredibly hard, he was also the first person ready with a joke or story about the people he met in his life’s travels; recalling & telling these good-natured jokes/stories were relayed with love – never to harm or belittle. Many of these jokes and stories are legendary – with each telling being funnier than the last. He was a constant source of humor, support, and comfort.
Preceded in death by adored parents: Lawrence and Felicia. He is survived by his beloved wife of 34 years, Beth (Domsic) Giannetti; Bob’s family – Cathy Watts; Cindy and husband Dom Parise; Larry and wife Gina, and her brother, Christopher; along with many cherished nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and cousins, all of whom he prized more than anything.
Beth’s family –Mom, Marilyn, Rose, Kathy, Dennis (Laura), Marcia (late Pete), Mary and Dotty (Doug) Guzek, many nieces and nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews; he loved Beth’s family as if they were his own.
Both their families treasured spending time with Bob whenever possible.
