Robert J. Oblon, age 77 of Schererville, IN passed away on Tuesday September 8, 2026. He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Janet; sister in law, Debbie, her daughters, Cheryl Oblon and Chrissy Price ( Michael) and sons, Caleb and Wyatt; sister in law, Karen Kaempf; special friends, Dennis and Nancy Noworyta and Phil and Leslie Coduti; several aunts, uncles and cousins. Robert is proceeded in death by parents, Julian and Anne (nee Kansky) Oblon; maternal and paternal grand parents; brother, David Oblon and aunts, uncles and cousins. He graduated from Indiana University with a degree in physics. Robert worked in the environmental department at Interlake Steel most of his career until it closed and at Rohn/ Haas Paints until he retired.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Tuesday, September 15, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Maria Goretti Church 500 Northgate Drive Dyer, IN officiated by Rev. Charles Niblick. Friends may visit with the family from 9:30 to 10:00am prior to Mass on Tuesday. Interment will be held on a later date.
