Roberto Jesus Rodriguez, 79, of Whiting, Indiana passed away on March 10, 2026. He grew up in Whiting and graduated from Whiting High School. He then went to serve in the United States Marine Corp where he was an Expert Marksman/Scout Sniper. He served two years in Vietnam and was awarded two Purple Hearts for his valor and bravery. He worked as a Pipefitter – Local 597 until retirement.   His love for the Marine Corp followed him his entire life; he was so proud to be a US Marine. Roberto was a caring and loving brother and the best dog dad to his beloved Dachshund, Scout.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory his daughter; Dawn Christine (Jeffery) Rodriguez Crisostomo; Grandchildren, Javier, Christina, and Dominic; Great Grandchildren, Malakai and Mariana, all of Washington; Siblings, Luis Rodriguez of Griffith, Yolanda Rodriguez, Anita Aguilera, and Christina (Felix) Roman, all of Whiting; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by his Parents, Leon and Dorothy Rodriguez; Son, Luis Shon Rodriguez; Nephews, Raymond Aguilera and Felix Roman; and Great Nephew, Anthony Aguilera.

Love you and miss you always.

There will be a great encampment in the land of clouds today. A mingling and a merging of our boys who’ve gone away. Though on earth they are disbanding, they are very close and near, for these brave and honored heroes show no sorrow, shed no tear. They have lived a life of glory, history pins their medals high, listen to the thunder rolling, they’re marching in the sky.

Visitation will be on Thursday, March 19, 2026 from 4:00-8:00 pm at Kish Funeral Home, 10000 Calumet Ave. Munster, IN.
