Ronald T. Luketic \”Coach\”, age 74, of Munster, IN (formerly of East Chicago, IN) entered eternal life on October 31, 2010. Ron was an active member of the region for many years. He spent his career teaching, mentoring and coaching countless students at Bishop Noll during his 40 years of devoted service to the Catholic Dioceses of Gary. Ron loved teaching government, economics and discussing current events. He was an avid basketball fan and spent many years sharing this passion with the athletes he coached at Bishop Noll. He is a veteran of the U.S. Army and a longtime member of the Goodfellows Club in East Chicago, IN. He touched many lives and will be greatly missed by all that knew him. He is survived by Patricia (nee Kertis), his wife of 49 years; their four children: Paul Luketic, Patricia (James) Fitzpatrick, Jenifer (John) Schreiner and Juliann (Robert) Acevez; three grandchildren: Anya Fitzpatrick, Robert and Mia Acevez; sister: Fay (late Victor) Finke, brother: Michael (Barbara) Luketic, and sister-in-law Loraine (late Kenneth) Luketic; numerous nieces and nephews. Proceeded in death by brothers: Norbert Luketic and Kenneth Luketic; sisters: Lucille (Richard) Haiden, Loraine Luketic, Mildred (Charles) Kotso and Noreen Luketic; and his parents: Michael and Barbara Luketic.The family will receive friends at Kish Funeral Home, 10000 Calumet Avenue, Munster, IN on Wednesday, November 3 from 3:00 – 8:00 pm with a prayer service at 4:00 PM and Thursday from 9:30-10:00 at the church. A funeral mass celebrating Ron's life will be held directly at Sacred Heart Church located at 4423 Olcott Ave in East Chicago, IN on Thursday, November 4 at 10:00 am, Msgr. Joseph Semancik presiding. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of the Calumet Area.
