Rose Ann Nagy, 89, of Schererville, IN passed away on Sunday, January 8, 2017. She is survived by her son, William (Holly) Nagy; grandchildren, Charles, Allison and Julia Nagy; numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Nagy; son, Charles Nagy Jr; parents, Charles and Anna Raben; siblings, Sr. Mary Sharon Raben, OFS, Alice Craft, Rita Raben, Theresa Kast, Antoinette Taylor, Angela Lapp, William Raben, Henry Raben and Anthony Raben. Visitation will be on Thursday, January 12, 2017 from 3:00-8:00 pm at Kish Funeral Home, 10000 Calumet Ave. Munster, IN and on Friday from 9:30-10:00 am at the church. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, January 13, 2017 at 10:00 am at St. Maria Goretti Church, 500 Northgate Dr. Dyer, IN. Interment will be at Calumet Park cemetery, Merrillville, IN. Rose retired from the East Chicago School System with over 30 years of service as a Home Economics teacher. She was a longtime Hammond resident. Rose volunteered at the Share Foundation. She was a member of St. Maria Goretti Church and a former member of St. John Bosco Church. Rose’s most cherished time was spent with her immediate and extended family and friends. In lieu of flowers, contributions to the Share Foundation would be appreciated.
