Rudy Sparks age 73 of Fort Myers, FL formerly of Crown Point passed away peacefully, November 16, 2024. He was born on August 22, 1951 in Hammond to the late Geraldine (Browne) and Ora Sparks. He is proceeded in death by his parents and brother David. Rudy is survived by his loving wife Michele (nee Kish). Devoted father to daughter Jenny Sparks, sons, Scott (Patty), Kevin (Morgan) and Brian (Kelly) and proud grandfather to 10 grandchildren. Rudy is also survived by his brother and sisters-in-law, cousin Phyllis and special friends.

Rudy was a graduate of Hammond High. Following high school Rudy started working at the mills alongside his uncles where he became a member of Laborers’ Local 41. He was a dedicated 55 year member of Local 41 and served the Local as: Field Representative, President, Delegate to the District Council and Trustee of the Construction Workers’ Pension Trust for Lake County and Vicinity for 30 years.  Rudy was tenacious at his work and gave his heart and soul to Laborers’ Local 41. He was also a member of the Masonic Lodge 712.

Rudy was extremely devoted to his family and friends.  He loved to play golf, travel, and watch anything sports from the Sox, Bears, Notre Dame. He also enjoyed watching and listening to the accomplishments of his grandchildren.

A Memorial service will be held on Wednesday, May 14, 2025 at 3:00 pm at Kish Funeral Home, 10000 Calumet Ave. Munster, IN. Friends may visit with the family on Wednesday from 11:00 am – 3:00 pm at the funeral home.
