Ruth Marie DeMarco

Ruth Marie DeMarco, 83 of Lansing, IL passed away peacefully on Friday, June 21, 2013 surrounded by her loving family. She is survived by her daughters, Karen (Richard) Mullins and Christine (Kurt) Schultz; son, Joseph “Mick” (Mary) DeMarco; beloved grandma to Angela Mullins, Erica (Mike) Petrizzo, Emily and Steven Schultz, Dominic and Angelo DeMarco; brother-in-law, Edward (Joanna) DeMarco; many nieces and nephews. Ruth was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Joseph C. DeMarco and infant son, Joseph Michael DeMarco. Funeral service will be held Thursday, June 27, 2013 at 11:00 AM at the Kish Funeral Home, 10000 Calumet Ave, Munster, IN with Rev Duane Fluechtling officiating. Interment will be at Oak Glen Cemetery, Lansing, IL. Friends are invited to visit with the family on Wednesday, June 26, 2013 from 3:00-8:00 PM and on Thursday from 10:00-11:00 AM at the funeral home. The family requests memorial donations be made in Ruth’s name to Boys Town Nebraska, the Wounded Warrior Project or the Independence Fund. Mrs. DeMarco was retired from Sears, River Oaks after 28 years of service. Ruth loved her family,friends, life, and her job. She enjoyed gardening, reading and doing People Magazine crossword puzzles. She loved being silly and her laugh was infectious. She was the ultimate Miss Hospitality. When you left Ruth and Joe’s, you knew you had a good time, your stomach was full and your soul had been nourished. She will be deeply missed.
