July 3, 1941-September 6, 2026
Sally Jill (nee Strong) Saculla, 85, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Sunday, September 6, 2026. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and caretaker with a sweet, generous heart.
She was always there for her friends and family and often found it easier to care for others than to let others care for her. Sally had a sweet tooth like no other, especially when it came to strawberries. She’d wrestle you to the ground if you messed with her desserts. Sally also had quite the green thumb finding much happiness in tending to her flowers and garden and offering help to anyone who needed it. She enjoyed watching things grow, much as she nurtured the people around her with love, patience and devotion.
Sally was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Frank Saculla; parents: mother, Gwendolyn Brotherton-McComas, stepfather, William McComas, father, William Strong; and her son-in-law,
Michael Wimmer. She is survived by her children, Lizabeth Wimmer, Scott Saculla, Charles Saculla, Amy Farn (Mike Farn) and Jennifer Peacock (Alex Peacock) ; granddaughters, Emily Wimmer-Kaiser (Andrew Kaiser), Megan Wimmer (Zach Dean); brother, Michael McComas (Louise McComas); and many nieces and nephews.
Sally leaves behind family and friends who she loved deeply and we all miss her more than words can express. Her kindness, warmth, love of family, and appreciation for life’s simple pleasures will live on in everyone who knew her.
A Funeral Service will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Monday, September 14, 2026 at Westminster Presbyterian Church at 8955 Columbia Avenue, Munster, Indiana 46321. Interment will be private. Friends may gather with the family on Monday, at the church from 2:00 p.m. until the 4:00 p.m. service.

Sally was a lovely example of being God's hands and feet here on Earth. My Mom passed away on Sept. 14, 2008 - the day of the flood in Munster. I know Sally's home was greatly affected. A few days later there was a post funeral luncheon at Westminster, and who was there serving? Sally. I was so touched by the kindness she showed my family by being there to serve at the luncheon when she had her own concerns. Rest in Peace, dear Sally.
