Sarah J. Polito of Munster, IN, 93, passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 16, 2012. Loving mother of Alice Polito and Russell Polito; cherished grandmother of Sarah Elaine Polito; Preceded in death by her beloved husband: August Charles Polito. Visitation will be Sunday, February 19, 2012 from 5:00-8:00 PM at Kish Funeral Home, 10000 Calumet Ave. Munster, IN. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, February 20, 2012 at 10:00 AM at St. Thomas More Church, Munster, IN with Fr. Michael Yadron officiating. Interment will be at St. Joseph / St. John Cemetery, Hammond, IN. Sarah was a founding member of St. Thomas More Church and the Altar & Rosary Society. She was a member of Munster Woman’s Club, Munster Garden Club, active member of NICA, WANISS and the Lyric Opera of Chicago. The family has requested in lieu of flowers, contributions be made to Hospice of the Calumet Area – William J. Riley Hospice Residence or St. Thomas More School.
