Shirley M. Horvatich, age 90, of Dyer, IN passed away on Thursday, June 7, 2018. She is survived by her daughters, Karen Horvatich, Diane (George) Kistinger and Joann (Mike) Gerike; grandchildren, Sarah (Justin), Julie, Michael and Amy; great grandson, Owen; brother, Richard Karl; and sister, Mary Lou (Nick) Eismin. Shirley was preceded in death by her husband, Anthony ‚ÄúTony‚Äù Horvatich; and parents, Wilford and Julia Ruth Karl. Funeral Services will be held on Monday, June 11, 2018 DIRECTLY at St. Maria Goretti Catholic Church 500 Northgate Dr. Dyer, IN with a 10:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial offered by Reverend Charles Niblick. Interment will follow at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens Schererville, IN. Visitation will be on Monday, at the church, from 9:00 a.m. until the 10:00 a.m. Mass. Shirley enjoyed gardening, a good glass of wine and her beloved dog ‚ÄúGinger‚Äù. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Shirley‚Äôs name to Hospice of the Calumet Area.

We hay lived across the street from Shirley for the last 30 years. She was such a sweet person and a wonderful neighbor. She was always kind to our family, especially our children. We will miss seeing her smiling face and visiting with her. My husband and I extend our deepest condolences to the entire family.

I would like to raise a glass of wine to my friend Shirley. My memories of you will be cherished always. Thanks for sharing your countless stories with me as we watched the cars go by. Your beloved Ginger will be lost with out you. Your neighbor lady (LOL)

So glad I met your delightful mother at your house during a Christmas gathering three years ago. I noticed her being a dog lover with your dog, and right away I knew she was my kind of ‚Äúpeople‚Äù. So sorry for your loss.

Mrs.Horvatich was the Mother of my good childhood friend, Diane. We were often at her house playing. She also became my Confirmation sponser. I always looked up to her. Diane, I am so sorry for your lost. God bless you and your family. I will be thinking of you.
