Shirley Meggers, 81 of Hammond, IN passed away on Thursday, December 25, 2014. She is survived by her daughter, Linda (James) Merva; sons, John (Becky) Meggers and Paul (Margaret) Meggers; grandchildren, Carolyn (Tim) Robblee, Katie (Melissa Brummet) Merva, Allison, Sarah, Daniel, Matthew and Annie Meggers; brother, James (Karen) Pickel; devoted friend, Ray Talarek and many dear friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Meggers.Visitation will be on Tuesday December 30, 2014 from 3:00-8:00 PM at Kish Funeral Home, 10000 Calumet Ave. Munster, IN. Funeral service will be on Wednesday, December 31, 2014 at 12:00 PM at the funeral home. Interment will be at Elmwood Cemetery, Hammond, IN.Shirley graduated from Hammond High School Class of 1951 and was a member of the First United Lutheran Church in Hammond, IN. She retired from Bank Calumet and was active in the P.E.O. Sisterhood for many years. In lieu of flowers, contributions to Hospice of the Calumet Area or the Humane Society of the Calumet Area in her memory would be appreciated.
