Silas “Si” Johnson

Silas “Si” Johnson, 79, of Munster, IN passed away on Wednesday, October 22, 2014. Si is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Susan (nee Massari); daughter, Jennifer, (Brandon) Siurek; son, Steve Johnson; grandchildren, Blake and Emily Siurek; father-in-law, Steven Massari; brother-in-law, Dennis (Kathy) Massari; several nieces and nephews. Si was preceded in death by his parents, Silas and Lola Johnson. He attended Indiana University and Indiana State University. Si was a Purchasing Manager in the steel industry with over 42 years of service, retiring from Republic Steel and Acme Steel. Si served in the United States Navy Reserve, past member of the Orak Shrine Drum and Bugle Core and a lifetime member of the Masonic Lodge. Visitation will be on Monday, October 27, 2014 from 3:00-8:00 PM at Kish Funeral Home, 10000 Calumet Ave. Munster, IN. A service of Christian burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, October 28, 2014 at 9:30 Am at the funeral home. He will be laid to rest at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens, Schererville, Indiana. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, Calumet Humane Society or a charity of your choice in his memory would be appreciated.
