Sophie Malecha, 89, of Munster, IN passed away on Saturday, September 20, 2014. She is survived by her sons, Craig (Sharon) Malecha and Robert (Cathy) Malecha; grandchildren, Michael (Jenn) Malecha, Sean (Teri) Malecha, David (Alex) Malecha and Kristen (Loren) Gardner; step grandchildren, Keith (Taryn) Chellino, Wesley (Ryan) Chellino and Blake (Janice) Chellino; 20 great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Aloysius Malecha in 2001and daughter-in-law, Sharon Malecha. Visitation will be on Wednesday, September 24, 2014 from 3:00-8:00 PM at Kish Funeral Home, 10000 Calumet Ave. Munster, IN and on Thursday from 9:30-10:00 AM at the church. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, September 25, 2014 at 10:00 AM at St. Maria Goretti Church, 500 Northgate Dr. Dyer, IN. Interment will be at Holy Cross Cemetery, Calumet City, IL.

Aunt Sophie was my favorite aunt and was like a second mother to me. GOD has a real gem of a lady with HIM now in heaven. We all loved you Auntie Sophie. Love, Paul and family
