Sophie Pieczul, 86 of Schererville, IN formerly of the Eastside of Chicago, passed away on Thursday, November 1, 2012. Loving mother of Joan Glinski, Kathy (James) Marchese, Thomas and John Pieczul; cherished grandmother of Dawn, nee Glinski, (Aaron) Workman, Ryan (Susan) Glinski, Kimberly (Josh) Antinozzi, Tammy (Jamie) Davies and Lisa (Rafael) Escutia; several great grandchildren; extended family, Liberty Martinez, April Alexander and Kristy Frederick; preceded in death by her husband, John B. Pieczul and son, Robert Lewandowski. Visitation will be on Sunday, November 4, 2012 from 2:00-6:00 PM with the funeral service at 6:00 PM at Kish Funeral Home, 10000 Calumet Ave. Munster, IN. Interment, will be on Monday at Holy Cross Cemetery, Calumet City, IL. Sophie was Past President of the Mother’s of World War II veterans, volunteered for the Disabled American Veterans, member of St. Francis de Sales Church and was a longtime active member with her husband at the Illiana American Legion Post 220.
