Cherished great grandfather of Evan Rouse, Lauren Rouse, Luke Bochnowski, Lila Bochnowski, Jane Bochnowski, Alexandra Knapp, Maksim Knapp, Kaleb Feltner, Rachael Bertauski, David Bertauski, Morgan Babbitt and Chase Babbitt. He is survived by many, many nieces and nephews.Stanley was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 48 years, Clara (nee Plesniak); his parents, John and Rose, his siblings and his great-grandchild, Seth Bertauski.Visitation will be on Thursday, March 26, 2015 from 3:00-8:00 PM with a prayer service at 3:30 PM at Kish Funeral Home, 10000 Calumet Ave. Munster, IN and on Friday, from 9:30-10:00 AM at the church. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Friday, March 27, 2015 at 10:00 AM at St. Thomas More Church, 8501 Calumet Ave. Munster, IN. Interment will be at Holy Cross Cemetery, Calumet City, IL.Stanley served as a Master Sergeant with U.S. Army in the South Pacific during World War II. Stanley was President of Bochnowski and Lesniak Insurance Company and was a retired director of Peoples Federal Savings and Loan. He was a member of the East Chicago Elks and Moose Lodges. Stanley was a member of American Legion Allied Post 369 who will post colors on Thursday at 6:00 PM and hold Military Honors on Friday.Stanley was an avid mushroom picker and fisherman. Stanley loved fishing with his buddies from the South Haven, Michigan crew and the Fishtorn/Montana Boys. When Stanley wasn’t out on the lakes, he loved to watch Indiana University basketball or sit in his garage and read newspapers or books and visit with friends and family that stopped.
