Stanley E. Shideler, 73, of Munster, IN passed away on Friday, March 12, 2010. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Beverly (nee Hand); son, Sean Shideler; daughter, Megan Shideler; brother, George (Rae) Shideler of Chicago, IL; sisters, Rose Louise LaBuda of Wheatfield, IN, Myrtle (Robert) Krasch of Peoria, AZ. and Lyla (Dick) Howell of Silver City, NM; preceded in death by his sisters, Bernadine Pietrzak in 1980 and Patricia Van Willigan in 2007; brothers, Willard in 1983 and Lester Shideler in 1992. Visitation will be on Friday, March 19, 2010 from 3:00-8:00 PM at Kish Funeral Home 10000 Calumet Ave. (next to Fitness Pointe) Munster, IN and Saturday from 9:30-10:00 AM at the church. Funeral service will be on Saturday at 10:00 AM at Ridge United Methodist Church, 8607 Columbia Ave. Munster, IN with Pastor Steve Conger officiating; Interment, Memory Lane Cemetery, Schererville, IN. After 37 years with LTV Steel, Stanley retired May 2001. He was a member of the Goodfellows Club in East Chicago, Scoutmaster with Cub Scout Pack 505 in Munster, participated in multiple golf leagues and bowling leagues, member of the Ridge United Methodist Church and served as an usher since 1986 and played with the Handbell Choir since 1988. In lieu of flowers, contributions to Hospice of the Calumet Area www.hospicecalumet.org or the Ridge United Methodist Church www.ridgeumc.org in memory would be appreciated.
