Steve A. Macak, 87, of Dyer, IN passed away on Monday, February 28, 2011. He was preceded in death by his loving and devoted wife of 59 years, Clara (nee Redar). Loving father of John (Rosie) Macak, Kenneth (Patricia) Macak, Jerome (Cindy) Macak, Kathy (Gerard) Bohling, Linda (Terry) Osika, Paula (Bruce) McCallister, Kevin Macak and Kim (Mark) Miketinac; cherished grandfather of Melissa Macak, Stephanie Macak, Christy Macak, Tim Macak, Jarrod Macak, Zachary Macak, Meghan Macak, Lynne (Eric) Meredith, Jennifer Bohling, Christopher (fiance Melissa)Bohling, Steve (Kerri) Osika, Denise Osika, Daniel Osika and Ryan McCallister, Sophia Miketinac; caring great grandfather of Derrick,Dylan and Addison Osika. Visitation will be on Thursday, March 3, 2011 from 2:00-8:00 PM at Kish Funeral Home, 10000 Calumet Ave. Munster, IN and on Friday from 9:30-10:00 AM at the church. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday at 10:00 AM at St. Maria Goretti Church, 500 Northgate Dr. Dyer, IN. with Msgr. Semancik and Fr. Niblick concelebrating. Interment will be at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens, Schererville, IN. Steve served with the U.S. Army during World War II and was a member of St. Maria Goretti Church. He was known for his chicken and dumplings and for taking over making nut rolls with his son Ken after his loving wife, Clara, passed away. He was an avid White Sox and Notre Dame fan.. In lieu of flowers, contributions to St. Maria Goretti Music Ministry in his memory would be appreciated.
