I knew Tiby through Hal, though I always called her "mom" when I visited because she always "mommed" me. (You know what I mean, "So, you still smoke cigars?" "You should read this book." "You know there is other music besides Jazz, you were classically trained"). I so enjoyed her vitality, wisdom, knowledge and ironic humor. As was shared by so many at her Funeral and Shiva Mitzvah, she made everyone in her life feel like they were the only person she was thinking about; a truly amazing feat for one who had more family and friends than most zip codes. I know there is no way I could possibly miss her more than her children, grandchildren, extended family and close friends, but in my own small way, I will miss her. I'll do my best to keep her memory and influences alive in what I think and do as a monument to her wonderful life. May her memory be a blessing.
