Ted S. Vlamis, 81 of Lansing, IL passed away on Monday, May 10, 2010. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Helen Vlamis; son, Sam T. Vlamis; daughter, Debra (Andrew) Stefanik; brother, Michael (late Vera) Vlamis; grandchildren, Kristina E. (Tom) Taylor, Jennifer R. (Jeff) Lindemann, Ted S. (Julie) Vlamis, Sam T. Vlamis, Julian A. Stefanik and Helene M. Stefanik; great grandchildren, Kylee, Tommy, Ashley, April and Jordan; many nieces and nephews; preceded in death by his parents, Sam and Jennie Vlamis; brother, George (late Joan) Vlamis. Visitation will be on Thursday, May 13, 2010 from 2:00-8:00 PM with a Trisaghion Prayer Service at 6:30 PM at Kish Funeral Home 10000 Calumet Ave. (next to Fitness Pointe) Munster, IN. Funeral Service will be on Friday, May 14, 2010 at 10:00 AM at St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church 7021 Hohman Ave. Hammond, IN. with Fr. David Bissias officiating; Interment, Elmwood Cemetery, Hammond, IN. Ted proudly served as a Korean Veteran in both the U.S. Army and U.S. Marine Corp. Uncle Ted, Maya and I miss you already. Aunt Helen, Sam & Deb, I can still recall when I first met uncle Ted. I thought he was so cute and cool..I liked that he drove faster than my dad and had a cooler car than us. Every time we went somewhere and we followed your dad, I kept telling my father tp drive faster, as we were always the last car behind uncle Ted and uncle Pete Arvan...Uncle Ted will be missed until the end of time.Love, Gerry
