Thaddeus “Ted” Pieniazek, 91 of Dyer, IN passed away on Wednesday, February 2, 2011. He is survived by his daughter, Mary Beth Baker; sons, James (Sandi), Phillip (Nancy) and Robert (Sandy) Pieniazek; grandchildren, Lynn (Dean) Phillips, Keith Pieniazek, Nick (Jennifer) Pieniazek, Kari (Joe) Ragin, Brandon (Amy) Baker, Dr. Michael (Cori) Baker, Emmaline (Jimmy) Cunningham, Stephen (Julia) Baker, Heather (Erick) Cunningham and Mitchell Pieniazek; step grandchildren, Lori Bell, Jeffrey and Lisa Dian; great grandchildren, Haylee, T.J., Jaren, Sarah, Brittany, Nayve, Hayden, Tristen, Mason, Jake, Lily, Molly, Colten, Landyn, Kateri and Madeline; step great grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Michael, Joshua, Jaxson, Justin and Julius; brother, Wally Penner; sisters, Sophie Sajdyk and Phyllis Kisala; preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Marion; son Thaddeus Jr; brother, John Pieniazek and sister, Josephine Ritter. Visitation will be on Sunday, February 6, 2011 from 1:00-5:00 with a prayer service at 3:00 PM at Kish Funeral Home 10000 Calumet Ave. Munster, IN and Monday from 10:00-11:00 AM at the church. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Monday 11:00 AM at St. Joseph Church, Fr. Terrence Steffens officiating; Interment will be at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens, Schererville, IN. Ted was a devoted husband, father and grandfather who will be sadly missed by all who loved him. He was a life member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, retired from Amoco Oil, served with the U.S. Army during World War II and was a member of American Legion Allied Post 369 who will post colors on Sunday at 4:00 pm and hold military honors on Monday. Ted was an avid gardner and just loved to make you laugh.
