Thadeous Oberc, 80, of Dyer, IN passed away on Thursday, September 11, 2025. He is survived by his wife of 58 years Janet C. Oberc (nee Pers); Sons, Steven M. Oberc, and Bryan J. (Kristen) Oberc; and grandchildren, Riley Parks, Matthew Parks, and Avery Parks.

He was preceded in death by his parents John and Helen Oberc.

Thadeous was a successful entrepreneur, owning several businesses, including EZ GO gas station (Hammond), Lowell Fabric Care, Lowell Hardware, Burch’s Restaurant (Gary), Highland Insurance, and was a Business Real Estate Broker for many years.

Outside of his work Thadeous was a lover of animals, taking in dogs whose owners were no longer able to care for them, and regularly making donations to Humane Indiana.

Coming from a very modest upbringing, he was driven to be successful and to give his family the life he never had growing up. We all have failures in life, my Dad was no exception. Instead of his failures tearing him down he would always find a way to pull himself up and move forward. Dad, we are so proud of you and all the sacrifices you made for all of us.
