Theodore “Ted” Cable, 85, of Lansing, IL passed away peacefully and met his Lord and Savior on Saturday, March 5, 2016. He is survived by his beloved wife of 63 years, Beverly Cable; loving father of Ted Timothy (Diane) Cable and Douglas Scott (Bonnie) Cable; cherished grandfather of Tim, Melissa, Eric, Scott and Allison; proud great grandfather of Jacey, KayLee and Tucker; fond brother of Russell (Grace) Cable and stepbrother, Robert (Patti) Allen; caring brother-in-law of Don (late Elaine) Rudd and Harold (Lorraine) Skoda; many loving nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jacob and Maybelle Cable; stepmother, Ruby Cable and brother, Emmett (Margaret) Cable. Visitation will be on Tuesday, March, 8, 2016 from 2:00-7:00 pm at Kish Funeral Home, 10000 Calumet Ave. Munster, IN and on Wednesday from 9:00-10:00 am at the church. Funeral service will be on Wednesday, March 9, 2016 at 10:00 am at the First Baptist Church of Lansing, 3440 178th St. Lansing, IL. Interment will be at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, Elwood, IL. Ted earned a B.S. Degree from Illinois Institute of Technology and a MBA from the University of Chicago. He proudly served as an officer with the U.S. Navy. He worked for years as Manager of Employee Benefits at the Amsted Industries. In retirement he loved to travel, tend to his garden and read (especially his Bible). Ted expressed his desire that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to the Pacific Garden Mission, 1458 S. Canal St. Chicago, IL 60607, www.pgm.org, a ministry that he and his family has supported for decades.
