Theodore D. Sofos, 72, of Highland, IN. Born February 27, 1942 in Sparta, Greece to the late Angeliki and Demetrios Sofos. He passed away on Saturday, December 6, 2014. He is survived by his beloved wife of 46 years, Barbara (Nawrocki). Loving father of James (Melissa) Sofos. Papou to three grandsons, Teddy, Nicholas and Alex. Cherished uncle of Chris (Effie) Economopoulos and Papou to Catherine and Peter. Fond brother-in-law of Lou (Rene) Unger and Greg (Ginny) McCambridge.Visitation will be on Wednesday, December 10, 2014 from 1:00-4:00 and 6:00-8:00 PM at Kish Funeral Home, 10000 Calumet Ave. Munster, IN. Funeral service will be directly at the church on Thursday, December 11, 2014 at 10:00 AM at St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church, 7021 Hohman Ave. Hammond, IN. He will be laid to rest at Holy Cross Cemetery, Calumet City, IL.Theodore retired from Health Care Service Corporation after 34 years of service.

What to Say?See Condolences

My condolences to the Sofos family. Ted and I were best buddies at Blue Cross for many years. We spent many years working together on various Information Technology projects including the Blue Chip System development. He was quick with a joke and always seemed to be in a good good mood. He will be missed.

I would like to offer my condolence to the Sofos Family. Ted was my manager at BCBSIL and it was a joy working for him.

Patty and I offer our sincere condolences on your loss. We all met at BCBS in the '70s; we all gave birth to the Blues IT systems - they were our "children"; we all became close friends. Over the years some of us left BCBS; some of us stayed; many of us still love BCBS and our "family". Patty and I will miss Ted and all of the others, living and gone, that we grew to know and love.

Barb and Ted Jr. I am so sorry for your loss. Ted was a wonderful person and a great friend. I enjoyed working with him all those years at BCBS. A finer man you could not meet. I am saying lots of prayers for all of you and for Ted. I know he is smiling down on you from Heaven. We will all miss him. Most of all that great smile he always had.

Ted was a lifelong best friend and the reason for so many happy memories. God bless Ted and all who in turn have been blessed by knowing him.

Peace of mind is a call away. We’re here when you need us most.

Ted was a wonderful caring enthusiastic person whose professional and personal contributions can't be overstated. It's such a shock to think that he's left us. My most sincere condolences to his family and his wide circle of friends. He will be missed.

Ted was kind, funny, dedicated, bright and a great friend. He will be in our heart always! God bless Ted and his family and all of us who will miss him.
