Theresa B. Wilhelm, age 75, of Valparaiso, IN, formerly of Dyer, IN, passed away Wednesday, December 16, 2015. She is survived by her children, George L. Wilhelm IV, Eileen A. (Donald) Wilhelm- Kuschel, and Daniel A. Wilhelm; and step-grandson, Donnie. She was preceded in death by her parents, Stanley and Anna Maluchnik; ex-husband, George L. Wilhelm III; and brother, Frank “Fritz” (Kathy) Maluchnik. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 19, 2015 DIRECTLY at St. Maria Goretti Catholic Church 500 Northgate Dr. Dyer, IN with a 10:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial, officiated by Reverend Charles Niblick. Interment will follow at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens Schererville, IN. Visitation will be on Friday, December 18, 2015 at Kish Funeral Home 10000 Calumet Ave. Munster, IN, from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., and again at the church on Saturday, from 9:30 a.m. until the 10:00 a.m. Mass. Theresa was a 1954 graduate of St. Florian Catholic Grade School, 1958 graduate of St. Louis Academy, and a 1961 graduate of Little Company of Mary School of Nursing. She holdS a 1990 Certificate of Religious Studies from Calumet College and has a 1992 Associates of Arts degree in Religious Studies from Calumet College. Theresa was one of the founding members that established St. Maria Goretti Catholic Church until 2006, where she served as a Eucharistic Minister, a Lector and sang in the Church Choir. She was a Religious Education teacher at St. Michaels’s and St. John the Evangelist. Theresa was a Co-Organizer for Birthright of NWI, she always followed her dream, especially that of a 43 year Nursing career.
