Thomas I. Humpfer, age 76, of Dyer, IN passed away on Saturday, September 9, 2017. He is survived by his sisters, Dorothy (late Raymond) Zacny and Irene Walther; brothers, Ronald (late Rosemarie) Humpfer, Daniel (Connie) Humpfer and the late Raymond (Mary Jo) Humpfer; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Gerald and Nelda Humpfer. Memorial Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 23, 2017 DIRECTLY at St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church 8601 Harrison Ave. Munster, IN. Interment will be private. Visitation will be on Saturday, at the church, from 9:00 a.m. until the 11:00 a.m. service. Thomas was graduate of Hammond High School and a six year typesetting apprentice at the Hammond Times. He retired from Arcelor Mittal No. 3 Cold Strip. Tom was a member of St. Paul’s Senior Choir and also served as an usher. He served as an officer at St. Paul’s Evangelical Church.
