Thomas R. Metevia, 73 of Dyer, IN passed away on Saturday, January 10, 2015. He is survived by his domestic partner of 21 years, John Greene, daughter, Melissa Metevia; grandchildren, Heather, Raymond and Ian; 4 great grandchildren; brother, John (late Shirley) Metevia; several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his wife, Jane; parents, John and Marie Metevia; brother, George ‚ÄúCorky‚Äù Lauwaert.Visitation will be on Friday, January 16, 2015 from 3:00-8:00 PM at Kish Funeral Home, 10000 Calumet Ave. Munster, IN and on Saturday from 9:30-10:00 AM at the church. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Saturday, January 17, 2015 at 10:00 AM at St. James Church, 22244 Torrence Ave, Sauk Village, IL. Entombment will be at Holy Cross Cemetery, Calumet City, IL.Tom retired from the Village of Lansing Public Works and was a longtime member of the Lansing Copper Muggers. In lieu of flowers, contributions to St. Jude Children‚Äôs Hospital in his memory would be appreciated.

I miss you Dad, I hope your watching and are seeing how wonderful my life has become. I just know you would finally be so proud of me. Raymond is having a baby, grand baby #6 for me.

I have and hold many happy memories of my childhood times with Tommy and his Family. I am heartbroken and Sad that she has left this world . My deepest sympathy to John and Tommys family.

John, we cannot begin express our sorrow for your loss. Tom was a great friend & you provided care, comfort & love which kept him here with us longer than if you weren't such a huge, important part of his life. If you need anything, we just a door away. Love you. We will miss Tom dearly.

Rick and I are extremely saddened by this loss. Tom was always someone who supported his friends and he will be missed greatly. Our nights out won't be the same. It has been a pleasure getting to know Tom and John these past several years and our lives are better because of them both. Our prayers to John and the family.
