Umile F. Belmonte, age 90 of Highland, IN, passed away on Wednesday, June 5, 2024. He is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Delia (nee Buffone); children, Aquilina (Mario) Ritacca, Antonio Belmonte, Anna (Luigino) Ruffolo, Giuseppe (Maria) Belmonte; grandchildren, Umile “Tony”, Davide, Stefano, Antonietta, Giuseppe, and Gianluca; siblings, Adelina (late Antonio) Ruffolo, and Angelina Belmonte; several nieces and nephews. Umile was preceded in death by his parents, Antonio and Aquila (nee Sessa) Belmonte; and sister, Amelia (Pietro) Runco.

Visitation will be held on Friday, June 14, 2024 from 3:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at Kish Funeral Home 10000 Calumet Avenue, Munster, IN and on Saturday, June 15, 2024 from 9:30 A.M. to 10:00 A.M. at St. Maria Goretti Church 500 Northgate Drive, Dyer, IN followed by a Mass of Christian Burial that will be offered at 10 A.M. at St. Maria Goretti Church. Entombment will follow at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens 711 W. 77th Avenue, Schererville, IN.

“The day that you left, our hearts broke, we knew that you were in pain and suffering. When we look up at the gleaming stars, we know that you are there. When we see a cardinal, we know you are near. Our hearts are aching because we can’t have you here, but we know you are present with the lord hand in hand beside you. When raindrops fell from the sky, the day you left me, an angel cried. Remember, you are always in our hearts.”

In lieu of flowers, memorials made in Umile’s name to the Alzheimer’s Association.
