Virgil Kathryn Cochran (Leshock), 90, formerly of Thornton, IL and Dyer, IN; passed away on December 13, 2023. She was the devoted mother of Chuck (Donna) Cochran, Tucson AZ; Mitzi (Jeff) Mitchell of Highlands Ranch CO; and Dee (Mark) Jellema of Cedar Lake IN. Proud and devoted grandmother of Sarah (Beto) Mota, Nicholas (Kylene) Mitchell, Kathryn (Eric) Rayon, Daniel (Chelsea) Mitchell, Abigail Toren, Victoria (Joseph) Brown, Elizabeth (Adam) Buss, and Ashley (Gordon) Terpstra. Great Grandmother to Ryan, Jack, Liana and Andrew, Easton, Maisy and Jolene, August and Lydia, and Lincoln. She is preceded in death by her loving husband Jack, parents Joseph and Mary Leshock, sisters Bernadine Hurley and Carol Kay.

Virgil was a wife and homemaker for over 65 years. She was an active member of the Thornton Fire Department Woman’s Auxiliary as well as Holy Ghost Catholic Church in South Holland, Illinois.

Visitation will be on Monday, December 18 from 3:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. at Kish Funeral Home 10000 Calumet Avenue Munster, IN. Funeral service will be held on December 19, 2023 at 10:15 at Kish Funeral Home. Interment will take place at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood, IL.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contribution can be made out to Traditions Health Hospice of Northwest Indiana.
