Munster, IN Virginia A. Dorn, age 91, of Munster, IN, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, March 20, 2016. She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Anna (nee Hawkins) Martin of Chicago, IL. Beloved mother of, Thomas (Joan) Dorn, Sharon (James) Grady, and John (Laurie) Dorn; cherished grandmother of, Tommy, Sara, Brian, Michael, Danny, Lizzy, Anna, Andrew and Ellie; honored by nine great grandsons, Ben, Justin, Jacob, Alex, Ryan, Cormac, Evan, Declan and Finnley. Virginia’s world revolved around her family, which she loved unconditionally. She had many hobbies, which included reading, knitting, attending the theatre, and many of her grandchildren’s events. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, March 23, 2016 at Westminster Presbyterian Church 8955 Columbia Ave. Munster, IN, with Pastor Quincy Worthington, officiating. Luncheon will follow immediately after the service. Interment will be private. Visitation will be on Tuesday, March 22, 2016 at Kish Funeral Home 10000 Calumet Ave. Munster, IN, from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Virginia worked for 30 years as an elementary school teacher at Palo’s Park School District 118. She was a true “Chicago Girl” and loved spending time with her family and friends, and was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church. Virginia will be missed by all that knew and loved her.
