WALTER W. ‚ÄúBUD‚Äù KRICK, 84, of Lowell, formerly of South Chicago, passed away Saturday, February 16th. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Gail; daughters Christine Clark and Ellen Rappe, both of Fayetteville, GA; sons James (Marlene) Krick of Naperville, IL, Paul (Julie) Krick of Lowell, and Bill (fiance Camille) Krick of Vancouver, WA; grandchildren Catherine (Melissa) and James (Diana) Krick, Emily and Elizabeth ‚ÄúBess‚Äù Price (Jason), Andrew Rappe, and Erica Donahue (Cory) and Thomas, Lynette Krick and Jenna Echterling; great-grandchildren Ian, Simon, and Oliver. Preceded in death by parents Walter H. and Almeda Paul Krick, sister Lois Janc, and beloved dog Perry. Walter lived a full and varied life. He served in the US Navy aboard the USS Spokane. He was a district manager at AT&T until his retirement in 1985, and lead an international project to install telephone service in Iran and Egypt in the 1970s and 80s. Walter was an avid Cubs fan and served as a warm up catcher for the Cleveland Indians. In his retirement, he was a Master Gardener, planting over 5,000 plants annually on his hands and knees, creating his own beautiful park. His latest accomplishments were perfecting his \”Creme De La Creme\” cheesecake, and growing a green pepper that weighed almost a pound, \”larger than his whole hand\”. He was also a vinter, and a gourmet cook. Walter will be deeply missed by his loving and devoted family and friends. In Bud‚Äôs own words: ‚ÄúYou couldn‚Äôt have met a nicer guy‚Äù.
