William “Bill” M. Long, 50, of St. John, IN passed away suddenly on Thursday, October 16, 2014. He is survived by his parents, Robert and Patricia Long; sister, Sharon (John) Jovanovich; brother, Robert (Mary) Long; Godchildren, Rob and Amy (Cory); nieces, Kara (Sagar) and Samantha; great uncle to: Keegan, Kaanon, Gavin and Keeley. Friends may visit with the family on Saturday, October 25, 2014 from 9:00-11:30 AM at Kish Funeral Home, 10000 Calumet Ave. Munster, IN. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday at 12:00 PM at St. Maria Goretti Church, 500 Northgate Dr. Dyer, IN. Bill was the manager of Longs Garden Center Inc and a graduate of Mt. Carmel High School Class of 1982. He was an avid fisherman and a Nascar fan. In lieu of flowers, contribution can be made to your local Humane Society or autismspeaks.org in his memory would be appreciated.

Carmel. - I remember you giving me the 3rd degree on who was my friend that was dating your Aunt Darlene.- I remember you were my Center Junior year and us winning and celebrating the Kennedy Cup Championship that year.- I remember Bill Adams calling me your Senior year and telling me how awesome you played and you were the reason Carmel won the Kennedy Cup.- Be proud my friend for you are "one of a very select few" that lettered Varsity hockey all 4 years and enjoyed 4 Kennedy Cup Championships in a row.I know we had drifted apart over the many years, but I also know we would have picked up right where we left off. He was the guy that other guys wanted to “be like” and who all the girls wanted to “be with”.
